Have you ever wished things could just be… EASY?!
Certainly, navigating life and career during a pandemic is anything BUT easy! Even the most normal and mundane tasks at work can be complicated with ever-changing logistics and the unpredictable human dynamics of a world battling a microscopic enemy.
Or maybe, when things are hard the words of Theodore Roosevelt provide you with motivation: “Nothing worth having comes easy.” So you just buckle down and push through.
And a question: Which do you place more value on: things that come to you with ease, or things that come to you as a result of effort?
It’s not a trick question… but for so many of us the “normal” answer is to place value on things we have to work hard for.
Does that always have to be the case? I say: No, thank you!
- Today, I invite you to choose… ease.
- Today, I invite you to think about what comes naturally to you. Notice what you do effortlessly, with joy. Value it more than all the things you think you should be able to do. Nurture it. Find the evidence of your impact when you do those things. It is there.
- Today, I invite you to observe all the gifts and blessings that just seem to come your way, out of the blue. Watch for them carefully – they can be small and hidden at first. Celebrate them. Make the number you observe larger than the list of things you observe that are not going well.
- And today, when you’re working hard to get something done, or when a problem seems too hard to solve, I invite you to take a big, deep breath in, and out. Set an intention for BEing (to BE open, or BE joyful, or grateful…) – which is always within your control. From this place, you create the possibility for all else to flow – with ease.
Let me know how YOU are choosing ease – and valuing it! What will your choice make possible for you – and for others?
To your success,
Kathryn
